Presentation

Wrist pain after falling from a bike on an outstretched hand.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Acute comminuted impacted fracture of the right distal radius with intra-articular extension and radial shortening. Adjacent soft tissue swelling. No dislocations. Punctate density overlying the soft tissue of the first digit proximal phalanx may represent a foreign body.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent close reduction with a splint, pain management, and orthopaedic hand follow-up.
