Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Fall onto left hand. Swollen and tender, with limited movement.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Impacted distal radial fracture.

Minor dorsal angulation.

No other bone or joint injury.

Case Discussion

Simple impacted radial fracture - on the frontal view look for a step in the cortices or a mixed sclerotic/lucent line across the trabeculae.

This fracture was managed conservatively without imaging follow up.
