Distal radial osteochondroma

Presentation

A known case of distal radial exostosis presented with mild local pain for the last few days.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
Ultrasound

There is a bony outgrowth from the distal end of the radius on volar aspect. It is directed away from the wrist. Size of the lesion is about 9 x 5 x 5 mm. It is covered with an anechoic cartilage (4 x 4 x 2 mm). Lesion abutts pronator quadratus muscle. Flexure digitorum profundus tendons are mildly elevated by the lesion. The median nerve is away from the lesion.

Case Discussion

Ultrasound findings favor distal radial osteochondroma on volar aspect without cartilage thickening.
