Acute on chronic anterior elbow pain. ?partial thickness biceps tendon tear

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Avulsion tear of the distal short head of biceps tendon with mild retraction. The distal long head is attached and mildly tendinopathic.

Case Discussion

Often described clinically as a partial thickness distal bicep tendon tear, MRI can identify the different distal portions of the distal biceps tendon complex. It is most frequently the distal short head that is avulsed in these injuries.
