CT to confirm XR findings & to exclude tooth fragment
Confirmed punched-in defect involving the dorsal cortex with depressed cortical fragments. Note the defect in skin apparently remote from the fracture (arrow) indicating an oblique path through the soft tissues. No tooth fragment seen.
Case Discussion
Animal bites are prone to secondary infection by atypical/exotic bacteria. This defect in the bone required surgical wash-out in order to prevent osteomyelitis.
