Elongation of the colon is present particularly at descending and sigmoid portions accompanied by relatively dilatation of the affected segment. In addition, transverse colon ptosis is evident.
Case Discussion
Dolichocolon is an elongation of the colon, most often involving one segment, usually the descending and sigmoid, resulting in flexures, loops, and kinks in the lumen of the gut. Dilatation of the affected segment may accompany this.
