Elongation of the colon is present particularly at descending and sigmoid portions accompanied by dilatation of the affected segment. No pathologic filling defect or out pouching are observed.
Case Discussion
Dolichocolon refers to the elongation of the colon, usually involving the descending and sigmoid segments, resulting in flexures, loops, and kinks in the colon's lumen. This may be accompanied by a dilatation of the affected part and causing chronic constipation.
