Elongation and dilatation of the colon is present particularly involving the transverse and sigmoid portions accompanied by transverse colon ptosis.
Case Discussion
Dolichocolon is an elongation of the colon, most often involving one segment, usually the descending and sigmoid, resulting in flexures, loops, and kinks in the lumen of the gut. This may be accompanied by dilatation of the affected segment.
