Terminal internal carotid arteries as well as the vertebrobasilar arteries are dilated in keeping with dolichoectasia. Numerous subcutaneous nodules.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 is a neurocutaneous disease with diverse manifestations. Intracranial vascular manifestations includes stenoses, occlusions, aneurysms, dolichoectasia, and vascular malformations (e.g. AVM).
