A small avulsed fragment at the dorsal aspect of the navicular bone accompanied by mild adjacent soft tissue swelling consistent with a dorsal avulsion fracture. It is important to differentiate this injury from os supranaviculare which represents a normal variant.
Case Discussion
Dorsal avulsion fracture of the navicular bone is usually associated with a dorsal talonavicular ligament injury and needs MRI evaluation if clinically indicated.
