Age: 30 years
x-ray

Within the superolateral patella is a 9 mm well-defined lucent lesion with a narrow sclerotic zone of transition, and a clear matrix. No other findings of note.

Case Discussion

Appearance is the typical appearance of a dorsal defect of the patella, a well recognized anatomic variant. It is a classic "do-not-touch-lesion" of the bone.
