Dorsal wrist ganglion

Presentation

Pain and swelling at the dorsal wrist.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male
MRI

A well-defined cystic lesion with lobulated outline is noted at the wrist just dorsal to the extensor tendons of the hand. It has a deep extension reaching the extensor retinaculum over the capitate. It has homogeneous fluid signals with a hypointense signal on T1 and hyperintense signal on T2.

Case Discussion

Imaging features are consistent with a ganglion cyst at the dorsum of the wrist. The wrist is one of its commonest sites.
