Double aortic arch forming a vascular ring around the distal trachea and mid-thoracic esophagus focally narrowing their lumen. The right aortic arch is dominant and each arch gives off ipsilateral common carotid and subclavian arteries.
Case Discussion
Double aortic arch is the most common symptomatic type of aortic arch variant and vascular rings. Both the trachea and esophagus are encircled. Respiratory symptoms are common in infancy. Right arch dominance is the most common accounting for 80% of cases as in this case.
