Obstructive jaundice

Patient Data

Gender: Male
mri

Abrupt loss of bile signal at the distal portions of the common bile duct & pancreatic ducts with mild dilatation of their proximal portions (giving rise for the characteristic double duct sign) and to less degree the central intra-hepatic biliary radicles.

Case Discussion

The two most common causes of the double duct sign are carcinoma of the head of the pancreas and ampullary tumors.

This was a case of pancreatic head mass.
