A double nuchal cord is seen, the placental end crosses over the umbilical end of the cord.

A double loop nuchal cord have an incidence of 2.5% at delivery 1. In this case, it is considered type A, where the placental end crosses over the umbilical end of the cord. This type can undo itself and so follow up scan is recommended. Color Doppler helps to assess single or multiple turns of nuchal cord in sagittal section 2.
