Presentation

Persistent right upper quadrant pain following cholecystectomy. CT cholangiogram to exclude choledocholithiasis.

Patient Data

Age: 50
Gender: Female

CT cholangiogram following infusion of 100ml Biliscopin

Multiple large calcified calculi in the right subphrenic and subhepatic spaces.  Normal biliary tree post cholecystectomy without filling defect to indicate choledocholithiasis.

Dropped gallstones are usually asymptomatic but can cause ongoing right upper quadrant pain and even sepsis.
