You always see more of the calcification morphology with mag views. Don't try and cut corners with mag views and calcifications. Note the differing densities and morphologies and sharp points.
Initially, with DCIS there may be more of a ductal orientation in the calcifications; this can be as important a clue to the pathology as the calcification morphology. This tends to get lost as the disease spreads locally.
