Gender: Female

Screening Mammogram

Standard mammograms demonstrate a cluster of microcalcifications in the superior aspect of the left breast. Further workup with coned compression magnification views is recommended, including views in the lateral projection.

Workup Views

Magnification views in the lateral and craniocaudad projections, as well as the lateral contact view, demonstrate an indeterminate cluster of microcalcifications. Correlation with tissue diagnosis is recommended with a stereotactic vacuum assisted core biopsy.

Stereo, Specimen XR & Post biopsy Mammogram

Specimen XR taken immediately following stereotactic biopsy demonstrates representative microcalcification within the specimen. Post biopsy mammogram demonstrates a marker clip at site of stereo biopsy.

Case Discussion

Core biopsies left upper, central breast: High grade ductal carcinoma in situ with microcalcifications and comedonecrosis, ER+, PR+
