Duodenal diverticulum

Case contributed by Dr Jeremy Jones

Long history of dysphagia. No significant change in symptoms recently.

Patient Data

Age: 42 years
Gender: Female

No evidence of dysmotility (images not uploaded). Incidental duodenal diverticulum is revealed.

Case Discussion

The large duodenal diverticulum was confirmed at endoscopy, but was the only abnormality.

The cause for dysphagia was put down to gastro-esophageal reflux and symptoms improved with standard PPI (proton pump inhibitor) therapy.
