Duodenal GIST with Amyand's hernia

Case contributed by Dr Maxime St-Amant

There is a relatively well-defined tissular mass involving the second duodenum which shows slight enhancement. The localization and characteristic of this mass are in favor of a benign GIST. Moreover, there is an important right inguinal hernia which contains the vermiform appendix (Amyand's hernia).

Noncharacterisable hepatic hypodensities are seen as well as a liver hemangioma (segment 4B). Other less relevant findings were also noted.

Case Discussion

The GIST was confirmed histopathologically.
