Presentation

Work up for abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Duplication of the inferior vena cava is seen that crosses anterior to the aorta at the level of the left renal vein to join the right IVC.

A 20 mm hyperdense stone is noted in the gallbladder.

A 28 mm thin walled nonenhanced cyst is noted at the right adnexa.

Case Discussion

Duplication of the inferior vena cava is a relatively rare vascular anomaly, but this caval abnormality needs to be recognized; mainly associated with renal anomalies like crossed fused ectopia or circumaortic renal collar.
