Dural metastases from prostatic carcinoma

Bilateral dural masses overlying the central sulci at the vertex bilaterally. Minimal mass effect on the underlying gyri. No midline shift. No hydrocephalus. No acute intracranial haemorrhage.

Both dural masses enhance. On the left there is a small, apparently extradural low density component. No involvement of the superior sagittal sinus identified.
Case Discussion
This patient had a history of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is a common cause of dural metastases, and is more commonly dural than parenchymal.
