Presentation

First presentation with seizure.

Patient Data

Age: 15y
Gender: Female

Brain CT scan shows a focal area of hypodensity in the left frontal lobe with adjacent bone remodeling.

Cortically based mass in the left frontal lobe, with a rim of hyperintensity on FLAIR, and minimal enhancement. This bubbly cortical based appearance is typical for DNET. 

Case Discussion

Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNET) are usually seen as cortical based tumors in young individuals. It is most often located in the temporal lobe and frequently presents with seizure.
