Presentation

Patient admitted for headache.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Asymmetrical dilatation of the occipital horns of the lateral ventricles known as colpocephaly is seen in association with interhemispheric cyst at this patient. Encephalomalacia also is noted at the left parietal cortex.

Findings consistent of dysgenesis of the corpus callosum 
Main CNS associations of this condition include 

  • hydrocephalus (30%)
  • Dandy-Walker spectrum (11%)
  • intracranial lipoma (10%)
  • Chiari II malformation (7%)
  • grey matter heterotopia
  • holoprosencephaly
  • interhemispheric cysts
