Presentation

Partial epilepsy.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

The MRI sequences demonstrate:

  • diffuse thinning of the corpus callosum
  • parallel bodies of the lateral ventricles
  • dilatation of the trigones and occipital horns mainly on the right (colpocephaly) giving a "teardrop" configuration on axial sequences
  • small frontal horns
  • widening of the interhemispheric fissure
  • dilated high-riding 3rd ventricle
  • sunray appearance of the gyri on the sagittal T1
  • dilated superior ceebellar cistern
