Age: 16 years
Gender: Female

Ectopic eruption of an extra molar tooth into the right maxillary sinus floor, the sinus itself is opacified.

Case Discussion

Ectopic eruption of a tooth may cause sinusitis, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, nasal polyps, osteomeatal complex disease, epistaxis, facial pain, headache as well as foul smell, however it may remain undiagnosed for years. Differential diagnosis should include foreign body, anthrolith, rhinolith, bone sequestrum or a tumor.
