Presentation
Oligomenorrhea.
Patient Data
Homogeneously enhancing tissue is closely related to the superior aspect of the third duodenal part. The attenuation is similar to the normal pancreas in all phases, including the unenhanced, arterial, and portal venous phases. No fat stranding or adjacent organ invasion.
Green arrows point to the ectopic pancreatic tissues.
Case Discussion
Ectopic pancreatic tissue is a relatively common asymptomatic entity that refers to the presence of pancreatic tissue outside the normal confines of the pancreas without an anatomic or vascular connection. The heterotopic pancreas is isodense to the normal pancreatic tissue in all phases which differentiates this condition from neoplasm.
