Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

Diffuse colonic wall thickening,  with presence of water target sign, involving left part of transverse colon, descending colon and proximal part of sigmoid colon with surrounding fat stranding.
Near the superior flexure of the duodenum there is a homogeneously enhancing soft tissue 2.0 cm. The attenuation of it in all 3 phases is similar to normal pancreatic tissue - Incidental finding.

Case Discussion

Ectopic pancreatic tissue is presence of pancreatic tissue outside the usual location of the pancreas. It is usually found near the proximal duodenum. Next most common location is stomach.
