Presentation

Bifrontal headache with normal neurological examination.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

The T1 hyperintense posterior pituitary is in an abnormally high position in the region of the superior infundibulum. The normal anterior pituitary is within the small sella turcica.

Case Discussion

The ectopic posterior pituitary was an incidental finding in this patient. No other structural abnormalities of the brain or orbits were identified.
