Emphysematous pancreatitis perforating into stomach

55 years old male was admiited for acute abdominal pain. and fever of three days duration.

Case Discussion

The initial ultrasound study revealed an indistinct pancreatic outline with stomach gas obscuring the pancreas.CT showed  moderate  gas in  entire pancreas with evidence of gas in lesser sac,stomach wall,retroperitoneum and large bowel wall.

His earlier USG,  done 10 days earler,showed a 6 x 8 cm pseudo cyst.

The pseudo cyst now has totally disappeared,probably  became infected, with  spontaneously rupture into stomach
