Encapsulated hematoma - lumbar region

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Blunt trauma to lumbar region one month earlier. Presents with midline swelling in lumbar region. Radiograph - No vertebral collapse. USG to examine swelling. Clinical diagnosis: hematoma.

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Encapsulated collection with few septa and echoes is noted in subcutaneous plane of lumbar region.

Case Discussion

If a morphologically-similar lesion is found in the hip-femur region it is known as a Morel-Lavallee lesion.
