Encephalomalacia secondary to cerebral contusions

Seizures.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

Bifrontal and bitemporal areas of encephalomalacia are noted characteristic of prior closed head injury. 

Case Discussion

This patient had a known history of remote trauma and was suffering from intractable epilepsy with a right temporal lobe origin. He underwent a resection that confirmed gliosis with no tumor.
