Presentation
Right-hand small finger pain and swelling.
Patient Data
There is an 8 x 10 mm intramedullary fluid-like signal intensity lesion that involves 5th finger middle phalanx.
The lesion is well-circumscribed by overlying bony cortex and predominantly involves the diaphysis with extension to the phalanx base and epiphysis proximally.
Synovial cyst measuring about 3 x 5 mm originated from the sheath of the 5th finger extensor digitorum tendon central slip at the levels of proximal phalanx head and the interphalangeal joint is seen.
Case Discussion
Regarding the imaging findings, 5th finger middle phalanx enchondroma of the right hand is the main differential diagnosis.
