Post menopausal bleeding

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
ct

Mass-like thickening with heterogeneous enhancement in endometrial cavity. The myometrium appears to be involved . No evidence of extra uterine invasion or metastasis on CT of the abdomen and pelvis.

Case Discussion

The findings in this 65 year old female with vaginal bleeding are consistent with endometrial cancer.

Histological findings are compatible with adenocarcinoma of the endometrium, mucinous type.

Although CT has a role in assessing for distant metastases, a dedicated pelvic MRI protocol is recommended for local staging and optimal assessment.
