Endometrial carcinoma: example of FIGO - stage 1a

The patient presented with intermenstrual bleeding. On ultrasound her endometrium was thickened measuring 19mm.

MRI FIGO stage 1a Endometrial Carcinoma

There is a soft tissue mass in the endometrial cavity which demonstrates homogeneous isointense signal intensity on T2 weighted images. There is no myometrial extension. The uterine cervix and vagina are normal. The parametria are clear. No pelvic lymphadenopathy or omental lesions.

  • 1a: tumor confined to the body of the uterus with no or less than 50% myometrial invasion
