Enormous ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm post AVR

Case contributed by Dr Maxime St-Amant

Post-op aortic replacement surgery. F/up,

Patient Data

Age: 75
Gender: Male

Sternotomy for AVR surgery. Bilateral hilar prominence; pulmonary arteries dilatation? On the lateral view, possibility of an enormous aortic pseudoaneurysm vs enormous pulmonary trunk. Those findings weren't present in previous chest x-rays, before the surgery.

Cardiac MRI confirms the presence of a voluminous aortic root pseudoaneurysm, in this post-op. patient. There is aneurysmal dilatation of the ascending aorta. Bilateral pleural effusions.
