Download
Info

Bony proliferation is seen adjacent to the base of the fifth metatarsal bone, suggestive of enthesophyte. No acute fractures are identified.
Case Discussion
Peroneus brevis tendon and lateral cord of the plantar fascia insert onto the base of the fifth metatarsal. Enthesopathy of these structures has been described as an etiology of nontraumatic pain around the base of the fifth metatarsal bone.
