ultrasound

There is a well-defined lesion in the region of interest; measuring about 26 x 18 x 7 mm. The lesion is in the subcutaneous plane and abuts the skin as well as the fascia. It is separate from the muscle/ bone. The lesion shows well-defined thin wall and internal tiny low level echoes. Acoustic enhancement is present. There is no intra-lesional flow. Flow is demonstrated outside the lesion.

Case Discussion

Ultrasound findings shows a subcutaneous, thin-walled, avascular lesion in the forearm. Findings raise a possibility of epidermal inclusion cyst. However, the puncture is not seen in this case.

Surgical excision was done. Histopathology revealed the lesion being epidermal inclusion cyst.
