Epidermal inclusion cyst (thigh)

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right-sided thigh swelling for 2-3 years. No pain. No trauma.

Patient Data

Gender: Female
ultrasound

Well-defined ovoid lesion in region of interest.

Size: 36 X 32 x 18 mm.

Location: Lesion abutts skin and fascia.

Morphology: Heterogeneous with internal linear anechoic and echogenic linear foci. No calcification / cystic changes.Posterior acoustic enhancement present.Not significantly compressible.

Doppler: No flow.    

Case Discussion

Lesion shows classical ultrasound features of epidermal inclusion cyst. Surgical excision was done. Histopathology diagnosis was epidermal inclusion cyst.
