Presentation

Case of cirrhosis with ascites.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

There is a large volume of ascites. There are echogenic, multiple projections from the transverse colon, between the left lobe of the liver and the stomach.

Case Discussion

Ascites helps to see normal epiploic appendages along the transverse colon and also in the perigastric region. Ischemia/inflammation of these structures is known as epiploic appendagitis.
