Epiploic appendages

Abdominal fullness - about 2 months.

Patient Data

Age: 65 yrs
Gender: Female

There is ascites with tiny mobile echoes in abdomen and pelvis.There are vertically oriented echogenic projections from colonic wall. Underlying colonic wall shows normal thickness.

Case Discussion

Case shows normal intra-abdominal structure - epiploic appendages. They are better seen in the presence of ascties.

( Note : Aspiration of ascitic fluid revealed malignant etiology. Further work up is not available. )
