Fat stranding is seen adjacent to descending colon with a fatty locule seen with surrounding hyperdense rim. Oblique MPR reveals the characteristic central hyperdense dot.
Case Discussion
This case illustrates the typical findings of epiploic appendagitis. The fat stranding is closely opposed to the colonic wall with no evidence of diverticula. Further, there is no adjacent bowel thickening.
