Persistent left lower quadrant abdominal pain.

Gender: Female

Epiploic appendagitis

Modality: CT

CT shows a mass like lesion in the left lower fossa with fat attenuation in relation to the sigmoid colon and with surrounding hyperdense rim suggesting inflammatory changes of the adjacent mesenteric fat.
Additional finding of multiple mildly enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes.

Case Discussion

Detection of mesenteric fat stranding is the clue of several cases of acute abdomen.
