There is an approximately 4 x 2 x 1.5 cm fat density ovoid structure adjacent to the descending colon on the anterior and lateral border, with internal stranding and thickening of the adjacent pericolic gutter. The adjacent descending colonic wall is slightly thickened.
Case Discussion
The appearances are in keeping with epiploic appendagitis. It can mimic diverticulitis.
