Axial C+ portal venous phase

An ovoid fat density lesion with a high attenuation margin and mild surrounding fat stranding is noted adjacent to the sigmoid colon consistent with epiploic appendagitis.
Case Discussion
A fat-density oval structure with a thin high-density rim (known as the hyperattenuating ring sign) adjacent to the colon in a patient with recent abdominal pain is typical for epiploic appendagitis.
