Presentation

Left flank pain

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
ct

Ovoid fat density focus is seen adjacent to the distal descending colon with hyperdense rim and surrounding fat stranding suggestive of epiploic appendagitis.

No evidence of dense calculi could be seen in the urinary tract. No evident hydronephrosis or hydroureter. No evident perinephric fluid collections.

Case Discussion

Patient was sent for CT KUB for suspected urinary tract stones. Epiploic appendagitis is self limiting condition. It can present as renal colic. It is an important review area in CT KUB studies.
