Epithelioid sarcoma - forefoot

Presentation

Progressive painless swelling of the dorsal aspect of the left forefoot.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

Large relatively well-circumscribed soft tissue mass of the dorsal aspect of the left forefoot of subaponeurotic location with deep extension, in contact with the extensor digitorum tendons from the 2nd to the 4th digit with no significant interdigital extension. It elicits a low signal on T1, high signal on T2 and STIR with areas of restricted diffusion and vivid heterogeneous enhancement on post-contrast sequences.

The patient went to have a resection of the tumour with a histopathological exam that confirms the diagnosis of epithelioid sarcoma.
