Left upper quadrant pain for 2 weeks.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years

The patient has a laparoscopic adjustable gastric band in-situ which unfortunately appears to have eroded into the lumen of the stomach. Additionally, there is fluid tracking from the stomach around the band tubing with the fluid most prominent at the inferior margin of the spleen.

Case Discussion

A case of gastric band erosion diagnosed on CT. This is a relatively uncommon complication of this form of bariatric surgery. The erosion was confirmed surgically and the band removed.
