Chest x-ray demonstrates a mass with mixed density silhouetting the right hilum and paraspinal stripe

Case Discussion

This was a patient with a known longstanding history of esophageal achalasia.

The differential diagnosis of dilated esophagus includes; achalasia, scleroderma, esophagitis or esophageal carcinoma with stricture and esophagectomy with gastric or colonic interposition.
