Presentation

Dysphagia.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Severe stricture with shouldering appearance is present at the mid portion of the esophagus that causing pre stricture dilatation and contrast media stasis.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent endoscopy and biopsy, and histopathology finding confirms esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

The main barium swallow findings of a malignant mass of the esophagus include irregular stricture with shouldering and pre stricture dilatation with 'hold up.'
